Welcome to the Website of the Chemical and Process Engineering Institute. The research activities of the Institute cover a wide range of topics in chemical engineering. It serves many branches of the chemical and food industries with its expertise. Since environment pollution is a big problem in Poland, we have also started a research programme into environment protection. The Institute offers full time courses in chemical engineering leading to MSc Eng. degrees. The main research fields of the Chemical Engineering Group include: chemical reactors engineering, hydrodynamics of multiphase systems, mass transfer processes (especially absorption), adsorption and extraction and heat transfer in multiphase systems. Our applied research programs focus on the design of new tower packing, optimisation of heat exchanger systems, design of flue gas desulphurisation systems and effluent treatment. The research interests of the Physical Chemistry Group focus on various aspects of solid-state chemistry and catalysis, and transition metal co-ordination chemistry. International co-operation: Technical Universities in Berlin, Munchen and Karlsruhe, Mining Academy in Freiberg (Germany), Russian Academy of Science-Moscow, Chemical - Technological Academy in Ivanovo (Russia) and Ecole Centrale de Lille (France).
